Of Sakura and Spam

Posted on March 18th, 2007

First and foremost, claims of Cardcaptor Sakura’s completion were greatly exaggerated. Now that Rebmastu’s uploaded both The Sealed Card and Leave it to Kero! (Theatrical), CCS is at 100% completion.

Those of you who’ve visited recently have doubtlessly noticed the huge amounts of spam, usually of an inappropriate nature (I saw a midget porn one! Seriously!), new measures have been taken to prevent this from happening again. This means a little extra work on your part- in other words, commentators have to enter a validation code whenever they reply to a post. Don’t worry, it’s plain text, so you don’t have to worry about misreading those stupid little images.

In the mean time, we’ve been tweaking and fine-tuning bits and pieces of the site over the past few weeks, including the inclusion of some of the site specific pages, such as ‘about’. Still no contribute page or links, though. Hey, hey! I’m working on it!

Game CGS? WHAT?!

Posted on December 13th, 2006

Yeah, you heard me. Both Da Capo and Fate/Stay Night galleries are up and running. Since the last update, I’ve also gotten the Wild ARMs Chronicle F scans online. Yes, we’re still running phpnews. Argh, this thing irritates me!

Screencaps at 100%!

Posted on December 8th, 2006

With the completion of the Cardcaptor Sakura screencaps, the screencap section of the site is completely up to date and will now be updated as more items are, well, capped. It was a long haul, but I learned a lot, so all’s right, s’pose. since I’m going right down the list, I was thinking that I’d do CGs next, but since there’s only one book in the scans section, that’ll be done next instead. Aside from that, I still haven’t figured out what format to use in the game CG area, since there’s scenery, CGs, and those profile things. Adding them all would make a long page, but maybe it’ll work out. Maybe. In the mean time, I’m trying to find a better news script, since phpnews really doesn’t do it for me, and it’d be nice to have comments on other text-based pages as well that don’t necessarily count as news.

It’s done! Forget it exists!

Black Cat screenshots are all up for viewing and download. I was about to go insane over here.

Pausing…

Posted on November 10th, 2006

Cardcaptor Sakura screencaps are all available online and via zip through episode 46, aka the end of the first, or ‘clow’ arc of the series. Since we’ve gotten that far, I’ve decided to put the rest of it on hold until I can get some other sections of the site up, hopefully including the game cg section or possibly some of the scans and media. Until then, I’m uploading Black Cat for the most part, as it’s a complete (albeit short) series with a smaller amount of screencaps per episode than Reb’s usual amount. Argh, I want to concentrate on my own projects for cripes sake! (Negima!? is looking oh-so-lonely right now~) For those who want a status report, check the full news.

Edit: Megas thanks to Crisuskeer for the episode 44 zip!

Trudging Along

Posted on October 31st, 2006

Here we are, a bit more than a month after the last news post was submitted, and with… er, well, we’re almost up and running. All screencaps that you see on the site and that are listed on the directory are at least available for downloading via zip files, and everything except the Cardcaptor Sakura and Black Cat screenshots are available for online viewing, and should be finished within a few weeks.

Aye! CCS! Why do you have to be so long, anyway?

Aside from that, we’ve revamped a little bit, formatting-wise, and now the silly lowercasing on page titles has been removed. Hooray for proper case! The comments pages have also been revamped, and now look, well, much better. You can read them now! Observe! It’s magic! I swear it! Or not?

If you have any feedback or suggestions regarding the site, please feel free to comment! We know our formatting sucks, and we’d like you- no, not you, you, to help us out with it.

AND I’M DONE!

Edit: Turns out that I must have messed up a little coding on the comments, so now when you try to leave one, it goes to the first post… Trying to fix that now, yes.

Edit ^2: Fixed! Comment away!

Okay, so maybe it’s not the best excuse in the world…

For those of the audience who have been keeping up with the ORG at our LiveJournal community, you already know the story. For those just tuning in, here’s the short version: Roughly a year ago, our host (who will remain unnamed) and all of his sites, including our own dropped off the face of the Earth. Since then, we have been living on LiveJournal, trying to keep the site alive through use of free hosting. This helped, for a while, but we finally decided that enough was enough, and started a paypal drive to fund a move to our own server. Since you’re reading this message, it should be pretty obvious that the plan was a success. I’d like to thank everyone who donated, and remind everyone else that the raffle (which will be detailed in another post) is still running, so if you’d like to enter and win one of our awesome prizes, please donate!

Now that I think about it, that rant up there could probably be considered unethical. AHEM. We’re still in the process of relocating all files, including Rebmastu’s mass of screencaps, to the server. As of this posting, only a handful of episodes from Cardcaptor Sakura are up right now. We’ve made some changes that should make navigation a little easier, so if you have any suggestions or problems with the current system, please leave a comment!

Yes, you can comment to news posts now. No account required, post now! =D

Link Exchange?

Well hi there, and welcome to DesertMoon.org! If you’d like to trade links with us (you link our site, we link yours), please feel free to comment! But please, refrain from asking if we’d link your personal journal or anything like that. Websites only!
